Dear Members,
Though our proposals are reasonable, Apple, a member of the AMPTP, would rather gamble with the livelihoods of all industry workers than pay writers fairly for the value we create. Our proposals would cost Apple just $17 million per year. For comparison, Apple reported almost $400 billion in revenue last year.
As a result of our strike, new content for Apple TV+ will be delayed. Filming on several projects made for Apple TV+ has been interrupted or paused for the duration of the strike, and Apple TV+ already had one of the most limited streaming libraries. Consumers must know that without writers creating new content for the service, Apple TV+ is not worth paying for.
On Monday, June 5th, join us for an Apple Day of Action. We will speak out on social media and leaflet select Apple retail stores.
- Share your story about working for Apple on social media, using #BadApple.
- Let consumers know that Apple TV+ may not be worth paying for unless Apple does the right thing soon, using #BadApple.
- Leaflet in Cupertino, DC, LA, NY, Philadelphia or Pittsburgh.
More information is available on our Apple Day of Action toolkit.
In solidarity,
